The New Education Policy, which was started in July 2020, is an initiative by the Government of India to enhance quality education in the nation. The Union Cabinet approved the education policy, which they believe will overhaul the country's education system. This new policy brings major changes in the Education sector, one of the most important of which is the '5+3+3+4' framework which has replaced the former '10+2' framework. The '5+3+3+4' architecture is constructed as per the age groups, which includes: ● Foundational age of 3-8 (5 years) ● The preparatory stage of 8-11 (3 years) ● Middle age of 11-14 (3 years) ● A secondary set of 14-18 years of age (4 years) By 2040, the Government of India aims to collaboratively implement the reforms all over the country. The Indian Government plans to construct committees based on subjects with important members from relevant ministries at both state and central levels; a collaboration of the two groups is essential for the complete development of these programs. The State Education Department, NCERT, School Boards, Central Advisory Board of Education, the HRD Ministry, National Testing Agency, and many others are some crucial bodies that actively constitute and work together for the transformations that the NEP will bring. In addition, the policy aims to open Indian Higher Education to international students. The NEP also introduced many scholarship programs to help the students enhance their knowledge and skills. Significant recommendations were offered by the NEP are: ● The Indian Higher Education will start to international students. ● The Higher Education Commission of India will displace AICTE & UGC. ● The establishment of a National Research Foundation. ● Flexibility in Institutions for Master's Program. ● The four years multidisciplinary under graduation program will be introduced again with suitable exit options. With the efficient implementation of the policy, each and every child will be exposed to learn at least one or more vocations. Vocational studies aim to develop necessary life skills in individuals apart from academics, such as metalwork, electric work, carpentry, and others in the preparatory and middle ages. An efficient educational body that contributes to the growth of education in India is implementing the new education policy 2021 in their curriculum & moving towards the success of each student—making India a superpower.
